Data Deletion Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
1. Your Right to Deletion
At DownShift, we respect your right to privacy and your right to be forgotten. In compliance with data protection laws and app store regulations (including the Apple App Store and Google Play Store guidelines), we provide a clear and straightforward process for you to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
2. What Data is Deleted?
When you request account deletion, we will permanently remove the following from our active databases:
- Your profile information (name, email, phone number).
- Your Digital Garage data (saved vehicles, service history, mods).
- Your Market listings and associated images.
- Your active service reminders and telemetry data.
Note on Legal Retention: Certain transaction records (e.g., records of premium purchases or dispute resolutions) may be retained securely for a limited period strictly as required by tax and accounting laws, after which they will be permanently destroyed.
3. How to Request Deletion
You can request data deletion through two primary methods:
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
For the fastest resolution, you can delete your account directly from within the DownShift mobile or web app:
- Open the DownShift app and navigate to your Profile.
- Tap on Settings (the gear icon).
- Select Account Management.
- Tap Delete Account & Data and follow the on-screen confirmation prompts.
Your account will be immediately deactivated and data will be permanently wiped within 14 days.
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, you can request data deletion via email:
- Send an email to privacy@downshift.in from the email address associated with your DownShift account.
- Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request".
- Include your full name and registered phone number in the body of the email for verification purposes.
Our support team will process your request and confirm deletion within 14 days of verifying your identity.
4. Revoking Authorization for Third-Party Logins
If you signed into DownShift using Google or Apple Sign-In, you should also revoke access from your respective provider's security settings after deleting your DownShift account.
